Sobriety Starter Kit
You’re here because you want something better than the usual “just quit drinking” advice.
This starter kit is designed for anyone who wants to feel confident, clear-headed, and fully alive — no wine needed.
Take these 5 simple steps, one day at a time, and start building a stronger, more vibrant you.
Not Even Wine With Dinner began as I set out on my own journey toward sobriety. After decades of using alcohol to cope—and losing my big sister to cirrhosis—I knew something had to change. Not just for me, but so I could turn my experience, heartache, and creativity into something that helps others.
I’ve always loved being on a kind of stage. Whether through years in retail design, teaching yoga and wellness, or working in humanitarian aid and missions, I’ve always been drawn to connection and storytelling (thanks, ADHD brain).
From that mix of experience and passion, Not Even Wine With Dinner was born—a space for humans, especially in midlife, to rediscover who they are without the numbing, the noise, or the guilt.
I hope that you’ll come along for the journey—and find yourself, and love what you find.
We have something for everyone!

A few bits & pieces you might want to know

Not Even Wine With Dinner is a website, blog, and podcast full of stories and information about life, especially for those over 50. We have an emphasis on drinking culture, sobriety, and mental health. Also, we think life is hard enough, so many of the stories and interviews here will have a twist of humor and sarcasm when appropriate to lighten the heavy loads we all tend to carry.
We have a blog full of stories based on the life of NEWWD founder, Kristen Crisp, as well as a podcast, resources, and courses to help humans over 50 make positive changes in their lives. There is something for everyone here!
Let's be real, alcohol doesn't bring anything positive to the party, especially if you're binge drinking or a heavy drinker on your way to AUD (Alcohol Use Disorder). Sobriety is a clear path to a healthier, clearer, happier way of living.
No. NEWWD is a site of resources and information with an emphasis on wellness and mindfulness. We are not medical, addiction, or recovery specialists. If you or someone you love needs medical or psychiatric attention, please contact your doctor or call 911.
When Kristen decided to get sober (the first time), she would repeatedly get asked, "You're not drinking at all? Nothing? Never? Not Even Wine With Dinner?" She was asked that same phrase enough times that it stuck. After several years of using it as her blog pen name, it has shifted from a comment into a movement.
The anagram NEWWD wasn't planned, but fit perfectly with the vibe of Kristen's personality.
And I mean, come on, isn't it great?
