Reality Check

Let's face the facts

  • The holidays are supposed to be fun, right? But between family gatherings, office parties, dinners, social expectations, and the endless flow of alcohol, they can also bring a whole lot of pressure.

  • Maybe you're already thinking about how you'll handle certain situations. Maybe you're worried about feeling awkward, being questioned about not drinking, or finding yourself reaching for a drink out of habit.

  • Before you can change how you approach the holidays, it helps to understand what you're walking into. We'll look at the situations, emotions, and triggers that can throw you off track so you can head into the season with a little more awareness.

Your Holiday Toolbox

Turn awareness into a plan that actually fits your life.

  • Knowing what might trip you up is one thing. Knowing what to do when it happens is another. That's where having a few tools in your back pocket can make all the difference.

  • We'll walk through common holiday scenarios, explore ways to handle uncomfortable questions, and come up with responses that feel natural to you. No awkward explanations or elaborate excuses required.

  • We'll also talk about boundaries, because you don't have to attend every event, entertain every question, or put yourself in situations that don't feel right. You get to decide what works for you.

Enjoy things your way

Take back your power

  • Here's the thing: this isn't about sitting out the holidays or avoiding every situation where alcohol is involved. It's about figuring out how you want to show up and giving yourself permission to do things differently.

  • We'll talk about what happens after the event, how to reflect on your choices without beating yourself up, and how to keep moving forward if things don't go exactly as planned.

  • The goal isn't perfection. It's to finish the holiday season feeling good about yourself, remembering the moments that matter, and knowing you don't need alcohol to make them memorable.

The holidays don't need to be dysfunctional - well, at least not because of us.

So excited to meet you!

Hi, I'm Kristen Crisp

Not Even Wine With Dinner began as I set out on my own journey toward sobriety. After decades of using alcohol to cope—and losing my big sister to cirrhosis—I knew something had to change. Not just for me, but so I could turn my experience, heartache, and creativity into something that helps others.

I’ve always loved being on a kind of stage. Whether through years in retail design, teaching yoga and wellness, or working in humanitarian aid and missions, I’ve always been drawn to connection and storytelling (thanks, ADHD brain).

From that mix of experience and passion, Not Even Wine With Dinner was born—a space for humans, especially in midlife, to rediscover who they are without the numbing, the noise, or the guilt.

I hope that you’ll come along for the journey—and find yourself, and love what you find.
